All classes are an intensive 1hr  30 minutes session. The classes are however based around the concept that each student has different physical abilities. Size and strength vary with each individual, so once you have acquired a strong foundation in the basics, our program  will enhance your personal physical capabilities and maximise your martial skills.

Classes are family oriented and parents are actively encouraged to train with their children. Children under 5 years must be accompanied by a parent at all times even if the parent does not train. This is to ensure that the safety of the child or other adults training is not compromised.

Please phone for advice or guidance on a child who wishes to train. It is often possible to provide a deal regarding fees for a full family training together  with young children.



Wigan TKD has been running for over 18 years. It has seen many students progress to Black Belt.  The time.

required to reach Black Belt standard is dependant on the students abilities and amount of training time.

Someone who trains once a fortnight  will not progress as swiftly as someone who trains three times a week.

A good student will progress to Black in around  3 - 5 years hard training. Grading is not automatic and there is no guarantee of passing  ANY grade especially Blackbelt. As the student progresses the grading becomes harder.

Taekwondo is a Korean martial art and modern Olympic sport. Our club is accessible to all ages and abilities, from  beginners to advanced practitioners. Our main objective is to create a fun  and engaging learning environment to enhance students confidence and social skills, whilst developing co-ordination, balance, flexibility, along with improvement of aerobic  capacity.
